Purpose: scientific substantiation of safety requirements for household chemicals intended for the care of products for children Research methods: information-analytical, alternative and classical toxicological, sanitary-chemical, statistical.According to the analysis of the current legal framework in Ukraine and abroad, the need to develop safety requirements for household chemicals intended for the processing of products for children. The draft normative document "Hygienic regulations for the safety of detergents" and the Information Sheet "Method of assessing the washing of detergents from dishes and other products" have been developed.Priority indicators for assessing the safety of products intended for washing children's items and washing children's clothes (residual amounts of surfactants on items and linen) have been identified. A procedure for assessing the washing of products based on surfactants from facilities has been developed. It was found that the fabrics treated with detergents contain residual amounts of surfactants that exceed the norm.It is proved that all investigated agents based on surfactants have a cytotoxic effect. Cytotoxic effect is most pronounced in drugs based on APAR. It is established that dishwashing detergents based on "Kokamida DEA" and which include complex mixtures of surfactants (APAR, NPAR and Amf.PAR) are able to affect hematological parameters, have immunopotential and immunosuppressive effects, can cause allergic reactions. The expediency of using a set of traditional toxicological and alternative research methods to assess the toxicity of synthetic detergents has been proved.
