The purpose of the work is to develop a methodology for forming a structural form and engineering methods for calculating metal trusses with elements of the combined profile. Researches of metalwork efficiency of a covering and constructive form optimization were carried out. Studies have been carried out: the stress-strain state of the system-forming compressed-bent rod in the elastic and elastic-plastic stages; the strength of the cross section during compression with bending of the rod in two orthogonal directions by the criterion of limited plastic deformations. The methodology of substantiation of constructive forms and an engineering methodics of calculation of the investigated designs of a covering with combined profile elements are developed.
