An electronic database of selection purposes for 6 herds of dairy cattle in the Kirovohrad region has been formed. The total number of 4646 heads, including the available cows 1817. The exterior of 380 first-born cows was assessed by taking 10 basic body structure measurements and a linear type assessment based on 18 descriptive features. The economic effect of the use in breeding practice of early predictive selection on the basis of exterior and milk productivity is 1120 UAH per head.
