Scientific novelty. The principles of construction of ultrasonic low-aperture sensors and the system of control of acoustic field parameters in solids with the use of the offered sensors are developed. Analytical calculation methods and design and technological solutions for improving the metrological characteristics of magnetostrictive transducers have been improved. A method for controlling the characteristics of the acoustic field in a solid body using a magnetostrictive effect with a spherical pattern of low-aperture sensors has been developed, which has doubled the spatial resolution and accuracy of measuring instruments. Mathematical models of ultrasonic control of objects with defects in the form of cracks have been developed. Practical value. The system allows to provide control of surfaces of products of the difficult form. The sample of a low-aperture broadband magnetostrictive emitter of high power makes it possible to increase the depth of defect detection by 2–4 times. The developed system in comparison with the existing analogues of ultrasonic control systems with piezoelectric transducers increases the resolution by an order of magnitude and provides effective control of objects of complex geometric shape. Potential applications include: thin-walled load-bearing elements; objects of complex geometric shape; blades of gas turbine engines; aircraft blade spars; riveted joints of load-bearing structures and others. Use of results. The obtained results are implemented in the practice of non-destructive testing of products of complex shape at "Mechanical Engineering" (Dnipro, implementation act dated 22.11.2019) and "Ultracon" (Kyiv, implementation act dated 20.11.2020) .
