The goal of the research is to analyze artistic historicism, modern problems of the relationship between literature and history, study of historical genres in fiction, the relationship of historical facts and artistic conjecture, important pages of the artistic chronicle of formation and development of national consciousness, Ukrainian statehood. The research of the artistic interpretation specifics of historical realities, artistic modeling of historical figures images, themes and issues, genre features, image formation main ways, artistic chronotope projection, verbal skills in the works of V. Darda, A. Dimarov, R. Ivanychuk, M. Matios, N. Rybak, B. Kharchuk is continued. The development of the Holodomor artistic reproduction was supplemented through the analysis of the L. Kononovych, N. Doliak and S. Talan literary works. The genre-style characteristics of alternative-historical works by O. Irvanets and V. Kozhelianko, of historical and biographical by D. Zamriia, Z. Legkyi, O. Lisovykova, T. Malyarchuk, K. Tur-Konovalova, of young adults literature by M. Morozenko, V. Rutkivskyi and others are specified. The comprehension of the main directions of the Holocaust reception in theUkrainian literature is started, the prose of the writers of the XX – the beginning of the XXI cent. is analyzed in the way of the country’s traumatic experience during the years of Nazi occupation and, more broadly, in the in the 1930–1950s.
