The subject of the research is the study of new and previously discovered archeological monuments located within the modern administrative boundaries of Kyiv. identification of chronological and topographic dynamics of ancient Kyiv, analysis of the settlement system in the Middle Ages and modern times (8-18 centuries), assessment of the current state of monuments, in particular, in the historical part of the city. The necessary technique was used, which was recognized in the works on archeology and ancient history of Ukraine. The object of research are archeological monuments located within the city of Kyiv. The aim of the research is to reconstruct the historical topography of Kyiv of the ancient Rus time (modeling of the historical situation) using the scientific archeological information accumulated over the last decades by applying modern technologies of geographic information systems. Create an archaeological map that will reflect the stages of settlement and development of Kyiv as a European medieval city, including modern archaeological data on the existence of earlier societies in Kyiv. The relevance of the study is that the "Archaeological Atlas of Ancient Kyiv" - the first analytical publication that will contain relevant information about the location, condition, development of archaeological sites that were part of medieval Kyiv and created its historical development. Methodological basis. The methods used in the research process belong to the general historical - retrospective, geographical - mapping, geographical regression, mathematical - statistics, analysis of events and phenomena using algorithms provided by the use of information geographic systems.
