The main stages and peculiarities of the formation of Ukrainian cultural are traced, perspective directions of its development are determined. The complex of knowledge about historical stages and applied forms of cultural development of the Ukrainian people are combined. The decisive role of the individual in culture is proved, the life and work of outstanding representatives of Ukrainian culture are analyzed (on the example of cultural and educational activity of D. Ovsyanyko-Kulykovsky). The results of the study were implemented in the educational process of training MSU specialists, for example, students of the speciality “Cultural Studies”. The implementation of the research results was achieved through the improvement of training programs; organization of teachers’ and students’ research work; publication of the monograph “Scientific Heritage of Dmytro Ovsyanyko-Kulykovsky: Cultural Dimensions”, textbook “History of Ukrainian Culture: a course of lectures for culturologists” and a textbook “History of Ukrainian Culture (from ancient times to the XIX century): Illustrated textbook” (author's team); joint meetings of the scientific student societies “Paradigm” and “Content”; holding the international scientific and practical conference “Phenomenon of post-globalization culture”.
