The aim of the study is to increase the efficiency of technical means by improving their design and technological parameters and modes of operation. Research methods and equipment. Theoretical research was carried out using the developed modern provisions of the theory of traction dynamics of a tractor, classical methods of mathematics, and theoretical mechanics. Experimental studies were performed using original techniques, modern recording and measuring equipment (ADC, Arduino Uno, etc.), frequency-dispersion, and spectral-correlation analysis. Theoretical results and their novelty: for the first time, the project of the type of wheeled tractors for Ukraine is developed; the maximum value of skidding of tractor engines from the position of preservation of soil structure is established; the range of nominal efforts of tractors of new traction classes is substantiated. Experimental researches and their novelty: wear of tecron elements of a plow and their influence on traction resistance of a plow tool is investigated; for the first time in Ukraine, a mock-up of an agro-technical module with a width of 2.8 m was created; the mode of operation of the BR-6 rotary harrow is substantiated. The efficiency of developments: increase in productivity of work of the developed technical means by 15-20%, reducing specific fuel expenses by 15-20%, preservation of structure and fertility of the soil.
