Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine popup.description2 The object of research is the history of formation of the Archival Fund (AF) of the NAS of Ukraine, its structure, composition, content of documents, establishment of directions of activity of the Academy. The purpose of the work is to carry out historical and source research on scientific reconstruction and development of a source base on the history of the NAS of Ukraine; formation and use of AF NAS of Ukraine at the present stage; improvement of forms of work on creation of normative and methodical base concerning scientific description of archival funds, functioning of archival system of NAS of Ukraine. Research methods: system-functional, chronological, source and biobibliographic analysis, attribution, archeographic description, heuristics of archival documents, editorial archeography. Theoretical and methodological issues of creating archival documentary, information and reference systems, introduction of new sources on the history of Ukrainian science into the scientific and socio-cultural environment have been worked out. Formation and involvement in the scientific and electronic information space of thematic complexes of archival documents, which through the prism of research reporting documentation of the Academy fully represent the historical processes in the system of the Academy of Sciences for its entire period since its founding in 1918, established the main stages of history, content and the composition of the documents of the АF of the Academy of Sciences of the NAS of Ukraine in the period from 1961 to 1965. Replenishment of the National Archival Fund with an array of new documentary information on the history of Ukrainian science will facilitate further historical research on the basis of attracting a developed and significantly increased source base.
