Precise values of their structural parameters in a wide temperatures range are established. Thermal expansion anomalies associated with electronic and magnetic phase transitions have been identified in RE cobaltite-based materials. Comprehensive studies of the structural and luminescent characteristics of REE vanadates have shown that both intrinsic radiation and Bi3+ radiation in RVO4 are of excitonic origin. It was found that the photocatalytic activity of Bi1-xPrxVO4 vanadates depends on the crystal structure, phase composition, band gap and specific surface area of powders.
