It was found that in order to achieve European standards for the creation of protected areas, there is an urgent need to use non-traditional conservation approaches. Strengthening the framework of the ecological network is possible due to the use of not only undisturbed, but also semi-natural and even devastated landscapes as restorative elements and eco-corridors of the local level. We highlighted five main directions of the regional strategy for conservation of phyto- and biotope diversity of the Right-Bank Steppe: detection of valuable areas promising for inclusion in the Emerald Network system; creation of new objects of the Nature-Preservation Fund (NPF); renaturalization of anthropically and technogenically transformed territories in order to expand the network of local ecological corridors; environmental education and public involvement in the conservation of biological resources; coordination of actions of ecology departments of administrative regions of the Steppe zone, scientific and public environmental organizations. Peculiarities of the current state of phytobiota of 19 surveyed natural and three post-mining landmarks are considered. The selection of the most phytosozologically valuable objects according to the instructive and methodical materials of selection of territories suitable for declaring objects of nature reserve fund, namely: gullies Zelena, Demuryna and Kuliabchyna, valley-gully complex of the territory in the middle part of Ingulets basin near Sydorivka (formerly Horoduvatka), natural-post-mining complex “Rakhmanivsky” and post-mining quarry-dump complex “Starodobrovolsky”. Materials for substantiation of three regional landscape parks – “Balka Zelena”, “Balka Demuryna”, “Horoduvatskyi” are provided.
