It covers a number of main areas of Slavic studies - history, historiography, art history, linguistics and literary studies. The authors of the topic have published articles and reports on various aspects of this issue. In particular, samples of Cyrillic decorative writing of Bulgarian and Ukrainian manuscripts of the XIII-XV centuries have been studied in detail, genetic connections of neo-Byzantine patterns have been traced; a consistent description and analysis of both holistic periodization schemes and individual chronological markers of South-East Slavic relations within the framework of medieval Eastern Christian civilization have been done. The scientific heritage of Y. Gutsa-Venelin has also been analyzed in detail, in which his vision of the idea of “two Russian nationalities” and understanding of the Russian-Ukrainian unity and separateness have been revealed. The special attention has been paid to the influence of the Church Slavonic language on the formation of the Ukrainian literary language of the XVI - the first half of the XVII c. as well as the features of using eponyms-slogans of Latin origin in the titles of articles in modern Croatian and Ukrainian periodicals. A thorough review of the poetic vectors of developing Serbian and Croatian literature in the end of the XX – the beginning of the XXI c. and its reception in Ukraine of the features of the artistic understanding of the image of Slovakia and Slovaks in the Ukrainian poetry of the XIX-XX c. as well as Ivan Franko's creative interests in Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Montenegrin literature.
