Research methods and equipment - the following scientific methods were used in the research process: collection, comparison, synthesis and analysis of theoretical, methodical and legal bases of forensic construction expertise on the issues of street and road network research. The provisions of normative acts on the assignment of highways to the street and road network are systematized. Belonging of various objects and networks to the street and road network and the stage of project documentation development, determination of design stages, necessity of examination of project documentation, at construction stage - obtaining necessary permits, acceptance of completed construction objects into operation.Summarizing the definitions and concepts given in the regulations, it is possible to provide such a definition of the road network (street road network) - a system of transport and pedestrian links between elements of the planning structure of the city and parts of its territory, which is intended for traffic transport and pedestrians, laying of utilities and landscaping.This research paper provides a definition of the concept of "street and road network" and presents the features by which it is possible to attribute the highway and the corresponding accompanying objects to the street and road network.
