The purpose of the work is to develop mathematical models and physical bases of creating metamaterials on the basis of flat multilayer periodic structures from metal, metal-dielectric, dielectric and graphene elements, research of electrodynamic characteristics of microstrip gratings and flat screens of finite thickness with holes. Research methods are exact electrodynamic methods, such as the spectral method, the method of integral equations, the method of partial domains, etc. The main results of the work are as follows: - the diffraction on the ring and on the annular slit in the screen was studied; - the characteristics of two-layer periodic structures with different shapes of tapes in adjacent layers are obtained; - diffraction on defective metal strip structures was investigated; - obtained electrodynamic characteristics of three-dimensional-periodic dielectric structures with a defective layer; - the design of a terahertz sensor device for estimating the dielectric constant of gases and liquids is proposed; - Wood-type resonances in a completely ferrodielectric periodic metasurface were studied; - a number of new systems with unique characteristics based on metasurfaces of the optical range are proposed; - experimentally investigated frequency-selective properties of a metal metasurface that supports the resonant mode of closed modes; - scattering of electromagnetic waves by graphene tape gratings is investigated; - algorithms for the study of microstrip gratings and their elements have been developed; All this will make it possible to obtain high-impedance coatings and media with properties not found in natural environments, which are extremely promising for use in microwave technology and optics, as well as the creation of multi-frequency antenna systems, polarizers, filters and more.
