Among the Pobuzhzhia monazites, the monazite isotopically-enriched in lead-208 (up to 99% in average) has been determined. This monazite of about 2 billion years old has about 10% of thorium and about 1% of lead in its isotopic composition. Due to isotopic purity of lead-208 in monazites, such radiogenic lead may be applied as a coolant in nuclear reactors without being additionally isotopically-enriched.
