The object of research is environmental monitoring using remote sensing data. The purpose of the work is to develop recommendations for the use of data from space remote sensing systems of the Earth of different spatial diversity to solve the problems of environmental monitoring at the regional level (on the example of Zhytomyr region). The report provides examples of solving the following tasks of environmental monitoring for the territory of Zhytomyr region: • determination of changes in the state of landscaping and man-caused load on the vegetation of the city of Zhytomyr over the past few years; • determination of felling sites in the forests of Olevsk district of the region and their dynamics by years; • creation of landfills for fields that are plowed and cultivated within the water protection protection strips of medium and small rivers of the region; • determination of places and areas of waste disposal on the territory of Zhytomyr region and creation of a system for reflecting their location.
