The purpose of the work is properties determination of various refractories and refractory raw materials. The research methods are chemical analysis, physical-mechanical and thermomechanical tests. Tests on determination of chemical, physical-mechanical and thermomechanical properties of different types of refractories and refractory raw materials (chemical composition and particle size distribution, changes in mass during calcinations, moisture content, water absorption, apparent density, cold crushing strength, thermal shock resistance, refractoriness, refractoriness under load with rising temperature, permanent change in dimensions on heating, creep at compression) were carried out. Chemical analysis, physical-mechanical and thermomechanical tests of refractories were performed using standard methods. A standard sample of fireclay composition of SSSU 083.2-96 was manufactured and delivered to customers.
