The object of study - animals with experimental diabetic retinopathy with diabetes mellitus and patients with diabetic retinopathy in type 2 diabetes mellitus. The aim of the work is to investigate the diagnostic significance of the study of markers of endothelial dysfunction, proinflammatory chemokines, adipose tissue hormones in patients with diabetic retinopathy, to increase the effectiveness of treatment of retinal and optic nerve diseases in type 2 diabetes mellitus by scientific development of optimal treatment schemes with L-arginine. Research methods - clinical methods (visometry, ophthalmoscopy, biomicroscopy), biochemical methods (study of the activity of lysosomal enzymes, enzymes of lipid peroxidation and redox enzymes in tears and blood), statistical processing of results.
