The purpose of the work is to develop a methodology for forensic examination of Ukrainian banknotes. All samples of banknotes of independent Ukraine are systematized by generations, denominations, images of signatures of the heads of the National Bank of Ukraine, who headed the NBU in different periods of time. The security elements of banknotes of corresponding denominations and differences of security elements depending on the year of issue of banknotes in circulation are given. Descriptions and images of commemorative banknotes issued by the National Bank of Ukraine in limited quantities are presented.
