The aim is to develop a narrative typology (mental cartography) of movements and changes of identities, research of the cultural topography of Chicago and New York, phenomenological-existential analysis of the structures of the living world and changes of horizons. Main tasks: - to comprehend the significance of a specific place (territory) in the artistic discourse of Ukrainian and American literature of the late XX - early XXI century; - to identify the features of the combination of worlds of consciousness of the individual with the materiality of the landscape; - emphasize the importance of the literary canon for the formation of national collectivity; - to study geographical images as images of consciousness, to outline their specificity; - to carry out a phenomenological and existential analysis of the structures of the living world and changes in horizons; - to analyze the concept of "third space" in modern humanities; - to work out the basic concepts of cultural topography; - holding of the International scientific conference "Narratives of displacements and geography of identity in artistic discourse" (October 2020); - publication of Proceedings of the conference "Narratives of displacement and geography of identity in artistic discourse"; - publication of the monograph Shymchyshyn M/ M/ "Geography of identity in fiction of the early XXI century."
