The purpose of the study is to develop recommendations and methodological principles for the application of project-oriented approach to enterprise development management. Research methods – to achieve this goal the following groups of methods were used: comparison, systematization, generalization, statistical analysis, expert evaluation, deduction, induction and systems approach, economic-mathematical modeling and formalization, graphical method. The results of the study of important from a practical and theoretical point of view issues related to the main problems of project-oriented management of a modern enterprise are summarized: lack of connection of management methods with strategic planning, the need to assess the effectiveness of project management, project implementation planning and operational project management. Examples of problem aspects of project management methods are given, proposals for improving the methodology of project management systems evaluation are formed, which takes into account the clear relationship of management with the company's strategy and, as a result, most comprehensively reflects the effectiveness of the project approach.
