The object of research is the RT-32 radio telescope based on the MARK-4B antenna system (AS). The aim of the work is to determine and statistically evaluate the RT-32 guidance error matrix to increase the accuracy of the MARK-4B antenna system in the C-band. One of the most important conditions for the successful conduct of radio astronomical, radiophysical measurements and observation sessions of radio sources is the movement of the antenna according to a given scheduling program. This is especially true for large antennas and wavelengths, where the width of the pattern is proportional to the errors of the guidance system. Under such conditions, a significant reduction in the signal level is possible due to inaccurate guidance. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a cycle of experimental studies of guidance errors of the antenna system MARK-4B and to develop a method of measuring the values of the error matrix based on the results of research, if necessary. To solve the problems of constructing the error matrix of the antenna system MARK-4B was performed: the available methods are used to study the errors between the control signals and the signals of the antenna angular position sensors; researches of deformation of a mirror of the antenna system MARK-4B are carried out; the matrix of guidance errors of the MARK-4B antenna system in the C-band as a function of azimuth and angle of location is determined and statistically evaluated; developed methods for measuring the guidance errors of the antenna system MARK-4B in the case of scanning according to the law of sine and linear; the possibilities of the software for automatic elimination of systematic errors of guidance of the MARK-4B antenna system in the C-band as a function of azimuth and angle of place are estimated.
