The research method is the introduction of methods of dislocation theory, thermodynamics of alloys, metallographic analysis. New scientific data have been obtained on the development of several alloys to increase the service life of friction pairs, which wear out quickly during operation. Based on these developments, a multi-component "antifriction alloy based on Fe-Si-Cu-C" was proposed. A set of studies of the causes of destruction of large diameter shafts has been performed. The method was improved and improved, and a system of laboratory control and diagnosis of some of the surface defects of butt welds, parts (for example, control of surface cracks) and cutting parts of tools (for example, cutters and drills) using STZ was developed.
