The purpose of the research work is the establishment of the north-western boundary of the settlement of the chronicle of Chernobyl and to determine the construction of the fortifications and the general state of preservation of the settlement of Leliv. Methods of research are an archaeological excavations and investigation, graphic and photofixation of detected moving monuments of archeology, analytical description of the identified archaeological material, special archaeological methods of fixing and dating moving reminds scientific elaboration of detected monuments of archaeology and assembly of inventory descriptions. In 2018-2020, the department of archeology and memorial studies conducted archaeological research of the chronicle settlement of Chornobyl, exploration work on the study of the outskirts of the memorial and investigations of the Leliv ancient site. The investigation of the eastern and western part of the Chornobil ancient settlement was continued, and the 2nd and 9th trenches of the 11th – 19th centuries were detected. In order to establish the boundaries of the settlement, Excavation 3 and Trench 1 were laid. During the excavation of Excavation 3, were found 11 pits of the 11th – 20th centuries and the remains of the furnace. The weakly saturated layer of 11th-13th centuries is revealed. Shurf 1st contains the findings of the 11th-20th centuries. The 11 pits of the 12th-16th centuries were recorded and worked out, including the remnants of the ancient fence.
