The research topic consists of several sections, which to a certain extent were independent studies. So in the first chapter, we described a fast and accurate algorithm for simple floating point division, which is based on the inverse sense of the divisor. The presented step-by-step algorithms with four multiplications for single precision and six multiplications for double precision. The proposed algorithms belong to the group of iterative algorithms. They first use an approximation using the so-called magic constant, and then they are used to implement an iterative process using the Newton-Raphson formula. For all normalized floating point numbers, both algorithms have very small maximum relative errors. The second section analyzes the risk assessments of information security threats. To do this, using a genetic algorithm, it is possible to build an intelligent model of decomposing a large number into two simple factors, which allows a successful attack on the Rabin cryptographic system knowing the public key. To carry out a successful attack, it is necessary to correctly select parameters such as the number of the population and its size. The third section examines the protection of information using cryptographic and steganographic algorithms. A lot of works have been devoted to the study of these algorithms. In this paper, steganographic methods will be considered, so we will briefly consider their principles of operation. In steganographic systems, the fact of the existence of secret information is hidden. As a rule, information is hidden in digital media that have a physical nature - texts, images and video sequences. In what follows, we will consider hiding information in still images.
