ETHNOCULTURAL HERITAGE, MATERIAL CULTURE, SPIRITUAL CULTURE, CHERNOBYL DISASTER, POLISSYA, CHERNIHIV REGION The objects of the study are objects and phenomena of traditional folk culture of the villages of Semenivskyi and Novgorod-Siversky districts of the Chernihiv region, which have undergone radioactive influence as a result of the Chernobyl disaster. The goal of the work is based on the complex research of traditional material and spiritual culture of Semenivskyi district, Chernihivska region, to determine its local specificity and to identify archaic elements, as well as to find out the present state of existence of ethnocultural traditions. The methods of the research are a purposeful collection of ethnographic, folklore, art and linguistic information about individual structural components of traditional culture and their functioning as a certain system. This included the use of polls, observation, interviews. When collecting field information on various objects and phenomena of folk culture, in particular, unique monuments of traditional construction, clothing, embroidery, wood products and other artefacts, relevant measurements and graphic fixation were conducted, methods of scientific photography and video recordings were also conducted. During the evaluation of the collected materials were used synchronic, typological, complex, and comparative-historical analysis. In 2019, an investigation of material and spiritual culture of the affected villages of the Semenivskyi and Novgorod-Siversky districts of Chernihiv region was conducted. During the expedition, 27 villages were comprehensively surveyed and 16 settlements were surveyed on specific thematic issues.
