Complex lithological and mineralogical studies of marine bottom sediments of the Antarctic Peninsula shelf and freshwater lakes have been are carried out for the islands of the Argentine archipelago and the western part of the Antarctic Peninsula, which included determination of the particle size, mineral and chemical composition. Sedimentation conditions and paleogeographic conditions in different parts of the water area within the western shelf of the Antarctic Peninsula and interisland shallow water in the area of UAC "Academician Vernadsky" are characterized. According to the results of electron microscopic studies, the taxonomic composition of diatoms has been determined, associations and ecological groups have been established, and their biofacial distribution by morphostructural zones has been studied. The electrical conductivity, pH value, redox potential and total ion concentration were determined in the snow cover of the pits on the islands of the Argentine archipelago and on the Wiggins glacier in the west of the Antarctic Peninsula. Also, concentration of some ions (sulphate, phosphate, nitrate and ammonium) was determined in the snow samples.   Product Description popup.authors Bazylevska Marija S.
