On these models it was revealed how the magnitude of the hyperpolarization shift of the activation characteristics of the channels under the action of inflammatory mediators determines the occurrence of intrinsic spontaneous activity of nociceptors. The general and distinctive features of isoform-dependent patterns of such activity are defined. Thus, new data on cellular and molecular mechanisms that determine the phenotypes of genetically inherited pain disorders have been obtained.
