The precipitable water, precipitation-generating capacity and water resources of the clouds have been determined. The characteristic values of the water content of the clouds, which cause precipitation of various intensities (weak, moderate, strong and very strong) in the cold season, have been determined. The results of the study of dangerous and very heavy precipitation in the warm season are presented. The method is proposed for assessing the characteristics of precipitation, based on the use of data from satellites and ground-based meteorological radars. The results of investigations of convective clouds of various scales and phenomena associated with them, based on the data of radar observations, are presented. A regional model is described, which makes it possible to forecast the main meteorological values in a territory with a difficult orography. A system of equations for hydrothermodynamics and a description of the parametrization of subgrid-scale processes are presented. A family of strongly stable linear l-step finite-difference schemes and a fourth-order approximation of partial derivatives on the right-hand side of the equations of the atmospheric model are proposed. The results of testing the model are presented. The results of studies of the physical features of mesoscale diffuse processes in the lower part of the atmosphere and the assessment of the long-term regime of the formation of atmospheric air pollution are presented. A parametrization of turbulent diffusion is proposed. On the example of the Chernobyl accident (1986), an assessment and analysis of the physical mechanisms of the deposition of gas-aerosol pollutants on the Earth's surface are carried out.
