It has been established that the optimal physical and mechanical characteristics are possessed by a ceramic material based on boron carbide obtained from a charge containing 15 wt% chromium oxide, 2 wt% tantalum oxide, and 5 wt% amorphous carbon. The flexural strength of the material is 820 MPa, and the fracture toughness coefficient is 6.8 MPa · m1 / 2. Experimental hot-pressed beaters from the developed ceramics were tested under production conditions on an MC-1.25 mill for grinding sand. It was found that their service life exceeds the service life of serial production beats by 10-12 times.
