The subject of research is political culture as a priority component of ensuring the unity and consolidation of Ukrainian society. The purpose of the study is the theoretical and methodological substantiation of political culture as a priority component of ensuring the unity and consolidation of Ukrainian society. For the first time: the lack of unity and consolidation in Ukrainian society and the low level of political culture are justified as interdependent problems that can be overcome only in pairs. Manifestations of low levels of political culture, such as conflicts between public authorities, lack of strategic planning, manipulation of public consciousness, substitution of values, populism, appeal to primitive needs, use of disintegration issues, dirty technologies, and neglect of the law and the consolidation of society. After all, difficulties can be overcome only by a "united front", uniting the efforts of the whole society, controlling the government and demanding responsibility from it. On the other hand, unity and consolidation are the result of political and legal education, ideological certainty, coordinated functioning of the public administration system, and so on. Improved: the conceptual and categorical apparatus of research, in particular consolidation, is considered in two dimensions: as a process and, at the same time, as a result of this process, which depends on the chosen means and methods. Thus, it is manifested in the agreement of society with a certain system of ideas and values, with a certain system of "rules of the game", is the result of a high level of political consciousness and culture, when their own interests are subordinated to the common interests. The result of consolidation is the creation of conditions for strengthening the catholicity, sovereignty and independence of the state.
