The study carried out a comparative assessment of the morphological and functional characteristics of cryopreserved mesenchymal stem cells (CrMSCs) from adipose and cartilaginous tissues in the conditions of their interaction with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). CrMSCs cells from the studied sources were incubated with AuNPs at final concentrations of 4, 6, 10, 20 μg/ml for 1 hour, after which the integrity of the membrane, the state of apoptosis/necrosis processes, morphological characteristics, and proliferative activity were assessed. The control was CrMSCs without the influence of AuNPs (0 μg/ml). It was found that 4 and 6 μg/ml AuNPs did not affect studied parameters in CrMSCs from adipose and cartilage tissues. AuNPs at a concentration of 10 μg / ml led to a decrease in membrane integrity, proliferative activity, as well as an increase in the percentage of cells in the state of apoptosis in СrMSСs from adipose tissue. When using AuNPs at a concentration of 20 μg / ml was determined by a decrease in the number of cells with a whole membrane, their proliferative activity and an increase in the percentage of cells in the state of apoptosis / necrosis in СrMSСs from adipose and cartilage tissues.The obtained results can be used to substantiate and develop methods of combined use of CrMSCs and AuNPs in clinical practice for the treatment of tissue damages of the musculoskeletal system.
