The purpose of the study: to increase the efficiency of exothermic mixtures in fluxes, which increase the productivity of electroslag processes. Research methods: literature analysis of existing methods and research, research of electroslag remelting process with different content of exomixtures and flux, research of macrostructures. Theoretical results: According to the obtained mathematical dependences of the chemical composition of the metal of the bottom part of castings in relation to ESR of steels 9ХФ, 9Х2МФ і 60Х2СМФ from components of exothermic flux and taking into account the grade composition of these steels optimal compositions of exothermic fluxes are developed. The analysis of the considered articles of heat consumption showed that the most important are the articles connected with heat removal through the mold. The use of exothermic mixture (flux) allows to reduce energy consumption for smelting of electroslag metal due to the additional heat released during exothermic reactions.
