Skovorody popup.description2  GDR report: 112 pages, 72 sources. Object of research: theoretical and methodological issues of literary contacts and relationships, regional and national specifics of literature. The purpose of the study: to establish the specifics, patterns of development and nature of the interaction of European national literatures within the European literary process of the XIX - early XXI centuries. Research methods: comparative-historical, comparative-typological, genetic, intertextual and intermedia analysis. Scientific and practical significance of the work. To understand the culture of mankind and, in particular, the world literary process, the concept of a non-mechanical whole is relevant, the components of which, according to the famous researcher SS Averintseva, "not similar to each other, they are always unique, individual, irreplaceable and independent." Unique and independent, dissimilar, national literatures at the same time live together. The original cultures of individual countries, peoples, regions are always correlated as complementary and enriching each other. All this determines both the specificity and commonality of the evolution of the literatures of different peoples, countries and regions. Over the last five or six centuries, the European region has shown an unprecedented dynamism of cultural and artistic life in the history of mankind, while the evolution of other regions has shown somewhat slower dynamics and has been associated with much greater stability. But no matter how different the ways and rates of development of individual literatures, they all move from era to era in one direction, going through some common stages of development - Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, Modernism, Postmodernism and more. Keywords: patterns of development, external relations, internal contacts, translation, intertext, contextual analysis, genre diffusion, imagology.
