The technology of melting and casting of magnesium alloys type WE43 on the basis of ultrapure magnesium and REM additives with a purity of 99.99% has been developed. The structure of ingots of magnesium alloys smelted in different conditions is studied. The blanks of alloy WE43 high purity with a fine-grained structure (3 μm) and a high combination of strength and ductility. Mechanical and acoustic characteristics of WE43 alloy are determined. X-ray studies established the value of OCD in deformed alloys. Based on a comparison of our data on the minimum rate of biocorrosion of the studied ultrafine-grained alloy (d = 1-2 μm) in physiological solution with literature data, we can conclude that the rate of corrosion in the body (in vivo) will be in the range of 0.1-0.3 μm / day.
