However in any case the suspect contacts with the instrument of the crime or other things so even if any other traces are absent at the crime scene there may remain odor traces. Odor traces examination studying the signaling behavior of dogs-detectors gives an opportunity to use traces of human odor as a reliable physical evidence in criminal proceedings. Taking into consideration that odorological examinations mostly perform an identification function the quality of forensic examinations in this expert specialty, especially when any other physical evidence in the criminal proceedings are absent, can be crucial in the pre-trial investigation and further trial. This work for the first time developes a unified approach for experts of the institutions of the Expert Service of the MIA to the usage of general, general scientific and special methods (recovery of odor traces, reflexive detection), techniques and technical means for carrying out a research of objects of forensic biological expertise in expert specialty 9.7 "Odorological research", as well as suggests the implementation of a method of statistical data processing (calculating the probability of coincidence of the odor trace with the odor sample) and an alternative method of a reflecxive detection with usage of a universal contactless vector complex. The results of scientific research work can be implemented in expert practice during the carrying out of the forensic biological expertise in expert specialty 9.7 "Odorological research".
