The mechanism of correlation between historical politics and the state of memory of society has been revealed. The main cases within which "memorial wars" are being waged in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories are singled out from the general historical issues. An algorithm for analyzing the mechanism of instrumentalization of history in the occupied territories is formulated. The commemorative component in the planting of the imperial mythology of the "Russian world" has been studied. Records of oral historical testimonies of internally displaced persons living in the central and western regions of Ukraine (Cherkasy, Lviv regions) have begun. An analysis of the Laws of Ukraine on historical memory, compared with European memorial legislation. The illegitimate legal documents of the occupiers on the policy of memory were analyzed. The facts of violation of the Ukrainian memorial legislation in the occupied territories are recorded. Amendments to the memorial legislation of Ukraine are proposed, taking into account the needs of transformation of memory discourse in the process of deoccupation. Texts of theoretical and methodological publications have been prepared. Texts of publications on comparative analysis of memorial legislation have been prepared.
