The aim of the study was to investigate changes in the expression level of cytochrome P450 2E1, as one of the main prooxidant factors, in the myocardium of experimental animals in the development of diabetes and heart failure under the influence of omega 3 PUFA and quercetin. Research methods - molecular biological methods for determining the level of expression of cytochrome P450 2E1 in the myocardium of animals. Conclusions - an increase in the level of cytochrome P450 2E1 in the myocardium of animals was detected. Which is associated with the development of cardiac pathology resulting from diabetes (STZ-induced diabetes) and prolonged hypertension (SHR line, spontaneous hypertensive rats), but no age-related changes. Long-term use of omega-3-PUFA slightly reduced the content of CYP2E1 in the heart of diabetic animals, but did not lead to its normalization. Long-term use of omega-3 PUFA and quercetin does not lead to significant changes in the studied protein in the heart of old normotensive animals (Wistar line). At the same time, in the groups of old hypertensive rats (SHR line) omega-3 PUFA causes an increase in the content of cytochrome P450 2E1, and quercetin, on the contrary, a decrease in the level of studied protein in the myocardium.
