Purpose of work – justification of theoretical and methodological bases of studying the periglacial zone and research of relic cryogenic morphosculpture of Volhynian Upland. Research methods – field – lithostratigraphic, malacological, geomorphological, remote sensing; analysis, synthesis, generalization, etc. Results and novelty: first: the theoretical and methodological bases of studying the periglacial zone and research of relic cryogenic morphosculpture (RCM) of Volhynian Upland are suggested; a quadcopter was used to study the palaeocryogenesis of Volhyn-Podillia; improved: map of the distribution of RCM in the Volhynian Upland and the RCM is characterized in particular research regions; a list of the main features of the periglacial zone; got further development: the study of stratigraphic schemes of loess-palaeosol sequences of Ukraine and proposals for their improvement; field expeditionary researches on studying of sections of periglacial loess-soil series with the palaeocryogenic structures developed within it. Implementation of the results of SRW: The results of research of stage 1 for 2021 will be used in the subsequent stages of research on the project, as well as implemented in the educational process of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (certificate of implementation dated 30.08.2021 № 96/12), which will allow them to be used in the education of bachelors, masters and graduate students in Geography and Earth Sciences. Four articles on periglacial topics were prepared and published in professional publications of Ukraine, as well as two abstracts of the international conference.
