The object of the study is Stentsovsko-Zhebriyanskie plavni with a total area of 7234.6 hectares, which is part of the Danube Biosphere Reserve (hereinafter DBZ). The purpose of the research was evaluation of the restoration (renaturalization) methods of ecosystems in the Danube Delta on the example of Stentsovsko-Zhebriyanskie plavni and develop recommendations for optimal use of the ecosystem. The study of flora and fauna was carried out in accordance with generally accepted methods of geobotanical, hydrobiological, ichthyological, herpetological and ornithological research. In the frames of study an assessment of the past and present state of the Stentsovsko-Zhebriyanskiye plavni was given, and the changes in the ecosystem after a number of environmental measures which were carried out in 2010-2013 years during the cleaning of the main channels of the UPS - Murza floodplain., Laptysh, Chatal. The research assessed the past and present state of Stentsovsko-Zhebriyanskie plavni, studied ecosystem changes after the implementation in 2010-2013 a number of environmental measures, when work out to clear the main channels of the SZP part of the floodplains - Murza, Laptysh, Chatal was carried. In addition, in 2006, 2008 and 2010, mass stocking of floodplains with carp, catfish, pike and other bioemeliorators such as grass carp and silver carp, etc. was carried out. Methods for further restoration of SZP ecosystems have also been developed. The studies have shown that the ecosystem is in a very negative state and needs urgent restoration.
