Research object: patient medical histories, comorbid pathologies, changes in tissue structure, amount of virus and ACE2 receptor. Purpose of the work: to analyze patient medical histories and to identify the main comorbid pathologies that could be markers of pathologies; investigate amount of virus and ACE2 receptor in different tissues and its association with structural changes. Research methods - analytical and systematic (systematization and analysis of the medical histories of patients, polymerase chain reaction, immunohistochemistry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), methods of mathematical statistics. Results and novelty: The pathologies in patients who died from COVID-19 were studied. It was found that the highest mortality rate from COVID-19 was observed in patients with diabetes. The association was absent for patients with anemia. Blood clotting and plasma electrolyte concentrations were also analyzed. It was shown that patients with COVID-19 at the hospitalization stage had significantly lower values of the international normalized coagulogram ratio and higher values of the prothrombin index than control patients. However, despite the differences, both indicators did not go beyond the reference limits. Tissue changes in patients who died of COVID-19 were analyzed. Changes in the lungs, brain, kidneys, liver, spleen, gastrointestinal tract were identified. The expression of viral RNA, S protein and mRNA and protein of level of ACE2. However, these amounts may only partially explain the intensity of organ damage.
