The subject of the study is plasmon polariton photodetectors (PPPD) formed on the basis of such profiled metal films and p-n junction in Si. The purpose of this work was to characterize the morphological, optical and electrophysical characteristics of PPPD. Investigation of the surface of fabricated structures and obtaining morphological parameters of fabricated diffraction gratings. Electrophysical characterization of the quality of structures as diodes. Determination of the intensity and width of PPR. Development and manufacture of a working chamber of the sensor, which on the one hand is protected from light, and on the other hand freely passes smoke particles. Development of an electronic system for signal amplification and information output from PPPD. Research methods such as scanning electron and AFM microscopy, Current-V, Capacitance-V characteristics, optical measurements of polarized light reflection in the visible and near-IR ranges were used. The OPENSCAD software environment was used to develop the design of the sensor camera. The PROTEUS software package was used to develop electronic amplification systems and signal processing with PPPD. The technical characteristics of such PPPDs corresponding to or better than the planned values have been improved: maximum polarization sensitivity Ip/Is =3:1÷5:1, angular half-width of the resonance maximum ∆Θ=5°÷9°, photosensitivity at the resonance maximum Iph =0.08÷0.1 A/W, the ideality factor of the I–V characteristics n<3.5, the barrier height ϕb>0.45 eV. A patent for a utility model has been published, the materials of which are provided in the report for the previous stage. An article was published in Nanomaterials.
