The aim of the work is to modify anode materials with different types of additives in the electrolyte in order to control the electrocatalytic activity and selectivity of target processes in the electrochemical destruction of hazardous components of hospital effluents and the synthesis of strong oxidants. Research methods – scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and microanalysis. The general regularities of the influence of anode surface composition and geometry, current density and electrolyte flow rate on the efficiency and selectivity of pollutant destruction processes of different types in both primary electrochemical and secondary chemical processes due to interaction with oxygen-containing oxidants formed during electrolysis have been studied. Optimal electrocatalysts have been created due to controlled chemical and electrochemical modification of anode materials in order to increase their catalytic activity and selectivity in the processes of advanced oxidation of hospital effluents and in the processes of electrochemical synthesis of strong oxidants.
