Thermal oxidation is the most widely applied method of growing oxide nanostructures because of its relative simplicity due to the lack of additional reagents and the possibility of implementation under atmospheric pressure. However, the length of the process in several hours is the significant disadvantage of thermal methods. The use of plasma can significantly accelerate the growth process due to the presence of chemically active components, but the development of plasma methods for creating oxide nanostructures is constrained by underdeveloped methods to prevent the negative effects of ion bombardment. Mathematical models of processes in plasma devices of nanotechnology are the methodological basis for solving the project problems, which allow determining the growth parameters of oxide and carbon nanostructures when changing control factors in the plasma environment. A unified mathematical model is developed during the research to describe the growth processes of oxide and carbon nanostructures of different dimensions, which describes the novelty of the approach. The adequacy of the model is ensured by its verification with the experimental data. The research is complex with a gradual approach to the aim that will allow the development of a wide range of technological processes, the stages of which are formed for the fullest compliance of nanostructures with user requirements, as well as take into account the impact on energy saving technologies and the environment.
