A set of theoretical, methodological and applied aspects of industrial enterprises that influence the formation of the mechanism of strategic management of functional potential. Purpose.To develop practical recommendations for ensuring the effective implementation of functional strategies by improving the formation and strategic management of the functional potential of the industrial enterprise. Research methods. Systems analysis, comparison, synthesis, abstraction, mathematical statistics, functional-structural approach. Results. The peculiarities of the formation of functional strategies are determined and the functional potential in the conditions of the mining and processing enterprise is formed; developed methodological approaches to a comprehensive assessment of the functional potential of the enterprise, based on use of its structural components and the value of its integrated indicator; the mechanism of strategic management of functional potential of the industrial enterprise which structurally comprises three basic blocks is developed: diagnostics of a condition of functional subsystems, the dynamic block for a final choice of functional strategies and the control block providing constant monitoring of level of use of functional potential; according to the developed mechanism the technique of an estimation of efficiency of strategic management of functional potential of the enterprise is formed.
