The formed corresponding diazoketones were thoroughly purified by preparative chromatography. Up to 50 diazoketones in amounts from tens to hundreds of grams were synthesized, some of which were isolated and characterized. Bromoketones, important building blocks for medical chemistry, were obtained by the interaction of a solution of diazoketone in MTBE with concentrated HBr at temperatures below -10 C. Additionally, the diazoketones are a valuable raw material for diastereo- and enantioselective homologation of available -amino acids in the presence of water under ultraviolet irradiation with the release of homologation products - unnatural -amino acids, valuable starting compounds for peptide synthesis. Іn a flow-through "telescopic" installation, where the generation of diazomethane, the synthesis of diazoketone and the homologation reaction in the flow photo reactor were carried out without isolation of intermediates, more than 50 -amino acids were synthesized and isolated. The terminal salts of -amino acids were easily separated from organic impurities due to the solubility of the latter in water. Product Description popup.authors Volochnyuk Dmytro M.
