The purpose of the work is to develop technical solutions for the improvement of technologies for the production of alloying materials and their use in the production of special steels. Research methods are physical and chemical research, industrial testing, analysis of technical and economic indicators of production and mathematical modeling. The novelty of the approach lies in the development of strategic and tactical technical and economic solutions in the resource conservation in metallurgy of special steels. In the strategic direction, technological modes of production of sponge alloys based on rare and refractory metals with qualitatively new consumer properties have been developed. In the tactical direction, technological indicators of utilization of alloying elements from man-made wastes of different sources of formation have been developed. New metallic waste materials based on high-speed steels, alloys for alloying and deoxidation of special steels and alloys for precision alloy smelting have been developed. The proposed new technical solutions have significantly increased the use of high-cost alloying materials. The cost-effectiveness of using new tungsten-based alloying material has been evaluated and the feasibility of expanding innovation in the metallurgical industry has been demonstrated.
