The subject of the research is theoretical, methodological and practical provisions on the formation of a mechanism for the economic development of an enterprise under the influence of a variable economic environment at the sectoral and state levels.The aim of the study is to develop theoretical and methodological foundations, as well as practical recommendations for the formation and improvement of the mechanism for managing the economic development of an enterprise as an economic system based on the analysis of various theoretical approaches to solving this problem and the experience of domestic and foreign enterprises. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research is made up of the fundamental provisions of economic theory, methods of dialectics, general scientific and special methods, stability theory, provisions of efficiency theory and general systems theory, probability theory and mathematical statistics, differential and integral calculus, and fuzzy set theory. Research is based on specific methodological foundations of economic and mathematical modeling and forecasting, functional and logical analysis, principles of process rationalization. To study the validity of the proposed approaches, develop the concept of economic development of the enterprise and develop related criteria for assessment, forecasting and management, the following were used: a systematic approach, methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, abstraction and concretization, analogy and comparison.
