The object of research is the process of training officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the space sphere. The subject of research is the competence of officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in space activities. The purpose of the work is to determine the scientifically sound competencies of officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the field of space, taking into account the experience of NATO member countries for quality training in military institutions of higher education. Research methods - to achieve the goal set in the work used systematic analysis, methods of comparative analysis. An analysis of the current professional standards of officers of strategic, operational and tactical levels on the competencies of officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in space activities, as well as an analysis of competencies of officers of strategic, operational and tactical levels of NATO forces on space activities in the armed forces. On the basis of the conducted analysis the maintenance and ways of formation of competences of officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of strategic, operational and tactical levels concerning space activity are defined.
