Luk'yanova of National academy of medical sciences of Ukraine" popup.description2  The study examined the prevalence and clinical course of combined bronchial asthma and esophagitis in children. It was found that the formation of GERD occurs in 14.8% of children with asthma, which in 9.1% of patients is combined with EE. It is proved that the risk factors for the formation of comorbid asthma and E are: a combination of prenatal and intranatal factors, the presence of atopic dermatitis, food hypersensitivity. It has been established that the presence of GERD and EE affects the control of asthma in children, correlates with night cough and is associated with severe, long-term disease. It was determined that the clinical and paraclinical features of reflux esophagitis in children with asthma are: nonspecific complaints, catarrhal changes of the lower esophageal mucosa, focal hyperplasia of the epithelial layer, intraepithelial eosinophilia (11.8% of patients).
